Hellmann enjoys painting theater sets for community theaters and high schools throughout Los Angeles. In the past, Hellmann was a theater set painter and art director for JPL Design Productions and Children's Civic Light Opera. Most notably, Hellmann painted the set for the critically acclaimed opera Thérèse Raquin.
